I’ve always felt a strong connection to the moon but I never really knew why. once I read these words it just made sense. it’s sad, profound, and beautiful 🌙 credit to @l.zyers a whole 2020 mood. read good books, stay informed, and write more things that motivate people to actually give a damn ✨ so you may have noticed some things are different here. the username, the url, the blog title, it’s all different now. surprise! it’s just my name. I decided that my blog needs to be able to grow with me, and well, nothing sticks with you quite like your name. I wanted to keep it simple because I know my niche will always be evolving. there’s a million things I want to do and write about, and the only thing that seemed fitting was just going with my name because I’m literally just me, and I’m always going to be working on figuring out what that actually means. this year has been an actual rollercoaster for me, but I swear to you I really am doing my best. I am just quite literally a work in progress and disaster all at once, and I thank you for always bearing with me. things are different, but I promise you it’s a good different. if you want to learn a little more about what’s changing, why, and also take a look at the revamped site, head on over to the blog at the link in my bio 💙 One year later and people still don’t understand what’s it’s like to be a woman in a man’s world. It all began last year when a coworker made advances on me when I turned eighteen. He was 3x my age and married and didn’t see an issue with it. When he crossed a line, I reported it and he was fired, and that was supposed to be the end of it. Learning to live with the fear of that situation ever repeating itself, handling the blame I placed on myself for not seeing it sooner, and putting up walls so high you don’t know what to do when you want to let someone in, were all apart of the aftermath of that. I never expected this to still bother me one year later but it does. It’s 2019 and people still don’t know that harassment is NOT OKAY. Today I talk all about it on the blog, what’s going on in my head, what harassment is, what you can do about it, and why it’s important to advocate for yourself even though sometimes it seems impossible to do. I am so sick of being silent in regard to things that I’ve got a lot to say about so this next year of my life I’m changing that. It’s okay to not be okay. If trauma still haunts you, you’re not broken you’re just human. Healing is a process and it takes time. I’m reminding myself that every single day. Please be kind to yourself and don’t lose hope. There ARE good people out there. It may take time for them to find their way to you and into your heart, but know that they exist and will find you. You are loved, you matter, and you deserve to be heard❤️ poetry & photography: the cure to my lack of inspiration? clearly I’m sick of feeling uninspired so I’m back to pushing myself to write daily & I’m hype because there’s SO much I want to share with you 💙 Hey there, 19. If I’m completely honest, 18 was one of the worst years of my life. It was an emotional roller coaster in every sense of the word. I did so many amazing things, went to so many incredible places, and met so many fantastic people I’ll never forget and I’ll be eternally grateful for all of that, but I also hit rock bottom when I was 18. I’ve never felt more powerless than I did at the beginning of 18, I’ve never felt more depressed than I did during the middle of 18, but I’ve also never felt more hopeful for the future than I did at the end of 18. I have big plans for you, 19. Together we’re going to take chances, we’re going to let go of the past, and we’re going to continue to persist despite the circumstances. For 19, I hope to fearlessly be true to myself, I hope for new opportunities, new memories, and most importantly I hope for unstoppable happiness. 19, you’re a new beginning.
