Spring TJ Maxx Haul & Lookbook

Spring TJ Maxx Haul & Lookbook

Happy Spring!

It appears that spring has finally sprung here in Indy, so it’s about time my closet looked like it too! I went to TJ Maxx to pick up some new pieces to style for the season.

The Pieces

Yellow Star Top

$14.99 – The yellow star top I decided not to style with these shorts (however I did purchase them!) for the spring, however these pieces will go together perfectly for a country concert this summer!

Pastel Stripe Tie Top

$14.99 – This pastel colored top is light, comfortable, and could be styled in multiple ways.

White New Balance Sneakers

$49.99 – These beauties are regularly $65.99, so paying $16 less for them was a steal.

Purple Striped Top

$16.00 – This top was on clearance! It was leftover from winter, but is super comfy and not too heavy. Perfect simple piece for spring.

Navy Blue Nautica Espadrille Sandals

$16.99 – That’s right!! These beautiful shoes were only $16.99!! What a steal. They’re super comfy, super cute, and can be worn for everyday casual looks or for more dressy occasions. We love a versatile shoe!

3 Cozy Holiday Looks

3 Cozy Holiday Looks

Which means if you haven’t already because you’re a super procrastinator like me, it’s time to start thinking about what you’re going to wear for your holiday get-togethers!

I know Christmas is just around the corner, but don’t worry! I’m here to help by serving you up some simple style inspiration.

I am beyond excited to announce that I’ve partnered up with a local business for this post! I got to work with the lovely, Kali Lee. Her shop, Lillylee, is home to the handmade earrings you see paired with the holiday outfits I’ve put together.

Her earrings are incredibly unique with their lightweight leather and versatile patterns. They pair well with almost anything, are comfortable and chic, and would be the perfect gift to finish off any last minute holiday shopping for your favorite fashionable lady, or would make the perfect gift to treat yourself!

When we spoke, she told got a few new earrings ideas in the works as well, so be sure to keep tabs on her Etsy page! You can find the link to here Etsy shop here, and if you find something you like you can use my discount code “KATIE20.”

I’ve put together 3 different cozy holiday looks for you today. They are comfortable, casual, and festive looks that would be perfect for more intimate gatherings with your closest friends and family. Let’s begin!

Outfit 01 – Cookies for Santa

This first look is all about being comfy and casual. This look is supposed to be something you’re not afraid to get messy in, but also can be super festive, so I decided to keep it simple with a red Christmas tee tied at the bottom to add a little flair, my comfiest blue jeans, and these black and white gingham earrings from Lillylee.

I had so much fun shooting this look while I was baking with my friend. She took these pics for me and I am so excited with how they turned out.

Earrings (Currently out of stock, but I’ll keep you updated!) + Top (Similar) + Jeans

Outfit 02 – Cozy Christmas In!

This is the perfect look for just spending a cozy Christmas night in with your family, sitting by the fire, watching your favorite holiday movies with a cup of hot cocoa in your hand.

All this look needs is your favorite Christmas sweater, a messy bun, some super fun earrings, like these gingham ones for Lillylee, comfy jeans that can be easily swapped out for PJ bottoms later) and last but not least, Christmas slippers (Of course!).

Earrings (Currently out of stock, but I’ll keep you updated!) + Sweatshirt + Jeans + Slippers

Outfit 03 – Sugarplum Blush

If you’re not a red and green kind of gal, no worries! I’ve got you covered. This look is the perfect slightly dressier than the other but still comfy as all get out.

I decided to go with a plain white baseball tee with gray sleeves, a pair a light blue jeans, and my favorite black ankle boots.

I went with a braided ponytail to dress up the look and to show off my Silver & Gold Lillylee earrings.

To add a little bit of a whimsical holiday touch to this look, I decided to throw on my pink teddy coat to finish off the look.

Earrings + Necklace + Coat + Top + Jeans + Boots (Similar)

I’d love to hear from you in the comments below telling me which look was your favorite and what you favorite way to celebrate the holidays is!

I hope you have a very merry Christmas and a happy holiday season with your loved ones and that you feel comfortable and stylish in whatever you decide to wear to celebrate!

xoxo, Katie

Thrift Store Finds — Summer 2018

Thrift Store Finds — Summer 2018

Today I am so excited to share with you a super exciting post. I’m the kind of girl who doesn’t like to spend a ton of money on clothes but wants a ton of new clothes. So I have been doing the super trendy thing of going thrifting in search of new old clothes on a budget.

Don’t get me wrong, I love new clothes, but sometimes (I mean almost every time) my wallet is not big enough to support a shopping spree at one of the big box stores for new clothes. So Goodwill, T.J. Maxx, and a local place in Fishers called Clothes Mentor, are my go-to places to shop when I want to get a bang for my buck.

So today I’m sharing with you a few of my favorite things I snagged while out thrift shopping and how I styled them. Technically this is really two posts in one, a summer lookbook and a thrift store haul, so without further ado, let’s hop right in!

IMG_4039Orange Dress – $12

I 1000% get my love of comfy but cute clothes from my mom. Most summers, my mom lives in dresses like this one. It is so soft it is almost like wearing pajamas.

Not to mention it was the perfect thing to wear to Dunkin’ on National Donut Day because my style inspiration is obviously a Dunkin’ Donuts straw.

I styled this dress with my favorite brown summer sandals, my big brown bag, and of course, my favorite Dunkin’ Donuts drinks and donuts.

Comfy cotton dresses like this one are perfect for summer because 1. No pants no problem, and 2. They are a light and comfortable but stylish option to wear on the hottest summer days.

IMG_4260Colorful Tank – $5

This tank caught my eye because of all the bright patterns and of course, the super soft material because comfort is key.

I paired this with my favorite summer sneakers, my pink Pumas, some dark denim jean shorts, and a white bralette (for even more comfort tbh).

The purse sitting to my left you may see throughout this post is in my favorite color for summer bags and I snagged this little canteen bag from Target. Not a thrift item, but super cute and a summer must.

I wore this when I was on vacation with my family and needless to say it was the perfect comfy, casual, beach vacation top I was looking for.

Coral Top – $8IMG_4168

I love this top so much. It’s super fun, but comfy and is the perfect top to dress up any look.

I really like off-the-shoulder tops like this one because it’s really a simple thing that can change the whole dynamic of a look.

I paired my coral off-the-shoulder top with my favorite black high-waisted shorts, my black sandals from Target, and my go-to canteen-looking bag also from Target.

I opted for a low messy bun to keep this look pretty casual with some basic hoop earrings, but this top could easily be styled differently for any occasion.

I personally prefer any style that’s comfy but chic enough for a trip to Target because we all know I’m there just a little too often (This picture is actually taken outside Target!).

White Tank – $47516801056_IMG_0803

As soon as I spotted this top I was like: “Oh I definitely have to wear that to the beach!”

So here I am, wearing this super fun and flowy top on the beautiful sunny shore of Lake Michigan in St. Joe.

I can’t emphasize comfort enough. If you don’t feel good in it, it’s not worth wearing.

Comfy flouncy shirts have always been a love of mine, but I am so glad I found this one for only $4 because it was perfect to wear to the beach for a day of fun in the sun!

I paired this top with my favorite pair of sunnies, my favorite brown summer sandals (Which were, of course, traded out for flip flops at the beach), and my favorite light denim high waisted jean shorts.

IMG_6738Vacation T-Shirt – $4

I am a huge graphic tee person, and when I saw this one I was thinking I needed to have it, but once I saw the price tag, I just knew I had to have it.

Typically I pay up to $12 or $14 for a graphic tee and the fact that I found one this cute for only $4 actually blew my mind, but hey, that’s the beauty of thrift shopping.

I love this tee and I’m so glad I grabbed it!

I styled this top with my brown sandals, my light high-waisted denim shorts, my little brown canteen bag from Target, my favorite sunglasses on top of my head, and a delicious Handel’s ice cream cone.

7518841088_IMG_0924Blue Romper – $14

Last but not least is this super fun blue patterned romper. My mom actually saw this on a mannequin in our favorite thrift store and said: “I think I found a good one for you!”

I feel that Olivia over at Absolutely Olivia said it best on her Instagram: “A romper is the perfect summer outfit.”

They are quick, easy, and perfect for an effortlessly fun, comfy, or sophisticated look. You can easily dress it up or dress it down like I did on this day.

I wore this romper on a trip to Starbucks with my mama so I opted for a straightened high ponytail, dainty little earrings, and these comfy white sandals I love from Target. In the photo below I added some white, round, bedazzled sunglasses that are actually from Disney World, which is why they say Minnie on the side.

I had so much fun putting together this fashion post for you, so I am looking forward to creating more! It took me such a long time to work up the confidence to take the photos for this post for you, but I am so happy with the results!

Which look was your favorite?

Spring Target Haul

Spring Target Haul

Today I’m here talking about that beautiful magical place we all know and love, Target. I have been there several times in the last couple months (A shocking fact, I know) and I have picked up a few things, which by a few I really mean a lot, and so I want to share with you a few of my favorite things I’ve bought.

**ALSO all my photos in this post are edited with the magnificent Maddy Corbin‘s preset MC05. Needless to say, I am absolutely obsessed with how my photos look after using it! You can find it here, and while you’re there, be sure to check out her blog! She’s such an amazing human and boss lady who is absolutely killing the game!

Maybelline’s The Rocket Mascara

This used to be my absolute favorite mascara, and since I recently ran out of my Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara, I decided to go back to the basics. It’s crazy how big of a difference the brush style makes. The bristles are so tiny that I feel like I’m going to stab myself in the eye, but I don’t, and then my lashes look super pretty.

Conair Double Ceramic Curling Iron

I have realized that my hair is getting ridiculously long, for me anyway, and so my little 3/4 inch curling iron is not cutting it for curling my hair anymore. It takes much to long and I’m scared I’m going to burn my hair off by the time I get it all wrapped up around it. Not to mention that this curling iron is super pretty with it’s rose gold-looking finish. Perfect for the ‘gram? Yes, ma’am.

**I actually ended up returning this one to get the 1 inch because my hair was too fine for such a large barrel so it wouldn’t hold the loose curls.

Black Floral Romper

Now I understand that this isn’t the greatest photo, but you will be getting a much better look at this dress in a post coming soon *Hint: it’s a lookbook. So just consider this a sneak peek! This such a gorgeous little number that I tried on while out shopping with friends and they all immediately said I had to get it, so of course, I did. I can’t wait for you all to see it!

If you don’t write things down very often, you might not understand the significance of buying a new notebook, but if you do, you know it’s a big deal. I always want to find the cutest notebooks possible for sketching, poetry, quotes, inspiration, and any ideas I come up with. I have this notebook in black and I am obsessed with this kind of notebook. The soft leather cover with spiral bound pages. When writing a lot, spiral notebooks are a blessing.

Cactus Stickers

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, I’m sure you are aware that I am just a little plant crazy. I’m so excited to put these lil guys all over the pages of my planner and notebook because just look at how cute they are!

Chalk Markers

I am now obsessed with these colorful chalk markers. I have been wanting to get some for a while now and I finally had a good reason to because of a little project I did for my mom, which are those clothing basket labels there on the left. Still searching on Pinterest for more chalk marker craft ideas so if you have any ideas please share! I’m having too much fun.

Mama’s Fake Succulent

Unfortunately, my mom doesn’t share my love for succulents, so she has been continuously telling me that if she finds a cute fake succulent she would “keep it alive.” Isn’t she funny? Well, I finally found one that fits her requirements and so I would like to introduce to you, George, the unkillable succulent.

“The Best Peanut Butter Ever” B. Happy Peanut Butter

“The Best Peanut Butter Ever” as my friends like to call it. Which honestly I agree with. I love it because it’s made in Indy (which support local businesses y’all), and it literally is so good. They have so many amazing flavors to choose from, but the one shown is my personal favorite, which is the one with cinnamon and apples. You can find this at the Target in Fishers, and I also know of a local boutique called Gratitude Boutique that carries it.

Happy Easter Mug

As a good coffee lover does, I am an avid collector of mugs. Especially super cute and aesthetically pleasing mugs such as this one! Easter is actually one of my favorite holidays because of how colorful and lively everything is. It’s all about new hope and rebirth no matter how you celebrate, and that’s really been my latest mantra. So what more could I possibly need than an amazing mug with “Happy Easter” scrawled across the side in this super pretty font?

If I have any other Target-obsessed shoppers out there, I hope you enjoyed this post and that we might be able to go on tangents about the glory of Target sometime.
