Happy Saturday!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far and is getting to be around positive people you love, get the opportunity to relax, and possibly sit down with a good book or two.
One of my goals for this year was to read more, and I really want to stick with this goal. So to help keep me on track, I am using Goodreads to help me keep track of the books I want to read and the ones I’ve read.
I set a goal for myself to read 35 books this year, and so far I have read 2.
So I’m off to a slow start, but I’m moving forward! I’m a busy lady, but also an ambitious lady, so I have quite a few books that I do want to read and I plan on making it happen so here we go!
Today I’m going to list the books I’ve read this year (it’s a short list, but I’ll still call it list because optimism is important) and a few of the books I am hoping to read in the near future.
Book 1: Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
Book 2: White American Youth by Christian Piccolini
I have three more books I’m getting ready to read this month, so those are listed below.
Book 3: Notorious RGB: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg by Irin Carmon
— I had to pick up the Young Readers’ Edition at my local library because that’s the only version they had, but I might read the original sometime too.
Book 4: A Working Theory of Love by Scott Hutchins
— I was wandering through the library looking for Notorious RGB when I came across this book. I picked it up, read the first few pages, and now it is next on my list to read.
Book 5: The Help by Kathryn Stockett
— I’m reading this book for school, but I saw the movie what seems like forever ago and I loved it, so I am beyond excited to be reading the book that the movie was adapted from and learn about the original story and how it ties into our history.
*** Update: I am almost done and I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
And now I will share a few other books I am hoping to read this year.
+ Tabloid City by Pete Hamill
+ Almost Adulting: All You Need to Know to Get it Together by Arden Rose
+ A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro
+ Binge by Tyler Oakley
+ Milk & Honey by Rupi Kaur
+ Adultolescence by Gabbie Hanna
+ This Modern Love by Will Darbyshire
+ Into the Water by Paula Hawkins
+ Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut
+ I Can’t Date Jesus: Love, Sex, Family, Race, and Other Reasons I’ve Put My Faith in Beyoncé by Michael Arceneaux
If I read all the books I mentioned here today, I will have only read 15 books. It seems so crazy to me that it is only 15 books and I hope to read 35 by the end of this year, but hopefully by reading more book reviews and wandering aimlessly through the library I will be able to find more books to help me reach my goal.
You can stay up-to-date with what I have been reading in the Goodreads widget in the sidebar on the right!
Also, I love reading book reviews! So if you have Goodreads, let’s be friends! You can find me here. I can’t wait to see what you have read!
Also, I would love to hear from you in the comments below, what are some of your favorite books of all time or what is a book you want to read this year? Maybe I can add a few of your books to my list!
Thanks for stopping by,
If you like my content, please consider buying me a coffee to help keep me going!
