Life Lately #2

Hello hello! My life has been pretty hectic lately, so I haven’t really been able to sit down and write a complete thought for almost a week now. I am here today writing, just me and my jumbled brain, to let you know what I’ve been up to and what is coming soon on the blog.

This week was homecoming week at my school so it was pretty eventful. Juggling school, work, whatever drama my friends can create, and trying my best to show my school spirit was… certainly something. Needless to say to say I’m just a bit exhausted.

On Friday I went on my first college visit. It was overwhelming to say the least. I loved the campus and what classes and majors they have to offer, I really did, but I don’t know if I could cope with the distance from my family (we’re super close and they’re pretty cool so it’s not too weird I promise). It’s still an option I guess, but I’m just not sure its where my heart is.

Next up on the busiest week of my life, was the homecoming dance. For some unknown reason I thought it would be a good idea to work a solid six hours the day of the dance. Which would’ve been fine, but I also thought it would be a good idea to go to the football game the night before knowing with almost absolute certainty that my friends would cause me to stay out just late enough to make getting up at 7 o’ clock sharp the next morning for work more difficult than it is already.

The dance was wonderful and I had a good time, but I don’t feel like I truly enjoyed it because of how tired I was. I also just wasn’t vibing with the music they played this year, which is a bummer since I showed up to dance. Even with the unfortunate music selections, I still had a blast getting all dolled up and roaming the halls of school dressed like a princess with my friends.

I had to wake up only the slightest bit later at 9:00 for work the next morning and worked the entire day. Which I don’t mind, but I was already tired before I worked for nine hours, so my coffee wasn’t helping me out much by the end of the day.

After work, I went to meet up with a local entrepreneur at a coffee shop to talk about where this whole blogging thing could actually go for me and talk about her experiences.

I was horrendously unprepared. I could barely come up with questions to ask her. I felt so uncomfortable because she offered to meet me and I was just sitting there saying “um” way too much trying to fill up the nonexistent void I felt was there due to my nerves.

I was waiting for my brain to try and catch up and think of something I could say that would contribute to the conversation, but I’m not entirely sure if I ever did. She was so kind and so patient with me, I actually feel like it went pretty well even with all my pointless fillers and unusually placed pauses.

I left the meeting with so much excitement and inspiration, more than I realized at first. It took a while for me to get comfortable around her; I was in my shy state. I was absorbing everything she said, but unable to create a response to it on the spot. So just as she said I would, I started processing everything we talked about once I got home and I got caught in my own little creative storm.

My head started flooding with different ideas and I said to myself: “I’m gonna get in front of my camera when I get home from school tomorrow and release my inner super model.” So that is what I did.

I set up my sad and crippled tripod in my room, stood in front of my curtains and just started shooting. I got several photos that I’m really happy with, but I for once in the past several months since I’ve started blogging, am craving to take more photos.

I find so much enjoyment in photography, but usually from only behind the camera. I took photos today with me in it, my face, not just half my face, my entire face showing and I’m pleased with them. I just think its crazy.

These photos will be used in blog posts in the next coming week and/or will show up on my Instagram feed, so stay tuned to see them and other fun things I’ve been working on!

This whole week just seemed unreal, like a dream, because of how quickly everything happened. It was fantastic week nonetheless, but I’m almost happy the crazy is over… at least for now.

Thanks for stopping by,
